PowderReel
Your ski day, auto-edited. A 30-second reel from the phone already in your pocket.
You're on the list.
01 · How it works
Ride. That's the whole setup.
-
Ride all day
Phone in your pocket, that's it. GPS, altitude and speed quietly trace every run while you ski.
-
The reel builds itself
At last chair, your day is already a 30-second edit — run lines on the trail map, stats card, music. No uploading, no editing, no laptop.
-
Share with a challenge
One tap posts the reel with a "beat my vertical" link. Your friends do the rest.
02 · The product
The reel, ready at last chair
Every reel ends with your day's stat card — the numbers your friends will try to beat. It's the scoreboard skiing never had.
No cameras on the mountain. No one playing videographer. Just the quiet trace of where you went, turned into the thing your feed sees.
Planned feature · Mountain conditions
Your day. With the conditions that made it.
The next layer of PowderReel: bring the mountain's weather and reported snow depth into your ski-day recap.
A 30-second reel with mountain conditions
The conditionsRecent snowfall, reported resort base depth, temperature and wind.
The contextEach report would show its provider and update time, with forecasts kept separate from observed conditions.
*Snow depth means reported resort base depth, not measurements on individual trails. This is a planned feature; no live weather or snow-depth feed is connected yet.
03 · Why we're building it
Built for storm days.
The best ski days are the ones you'd never stop to film. PowderReel films nothing and bothers no one — it just knows where you went, and turns it into a reel worth sharing. Quiet on the mountain. Loud everywhere else.
04 · Questions
Before you ask
Will PowderReel include weather and snow depth?
That's part of the plan: combine footage and ride stats with mountain weather, recent snowfall and reported resort base depth. Reports would include their provider and update time. Base depth is not a measurement of every trail, and this preview is not connected to live conditions data.
When can I actually use it?
We're testing with real skiers this winter at a handful of Northeast mountains. Waitlist riders get first access, in the order they joined.
Will it kill my battery in the cold?
Run detection is tuned for cold lift-ride days — expect a normal day of GPS use, not a dead phone at 2 PM. We test on the oldest phones we can find.
What does it cost?
Free while we test. The first 500 waitlist riders keep a free season recap every year, forever — that's the only "founder deal" there will ever be.
